Timetable change on 10 Devember 2023

Changes to annual transport timetables will take place on Sunday 10 December 2023. The main changes for each transport operator can be accessed by clicking on the linked pages below. There may also be minor changes to other routes. To be on the safe side, check your connection in the online timetable before you set out. Throughout the TNW area, the previous night network, some with their own routes and names, will be abolished. However, night owls will still be able to use public transport to get around, as daytime services will run longer on weekend nights from Friday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday (see: lines on weekend nights).

Due to rising costs, 10 December will also see adjustments to public transport fares throughout Switzerland, including the TNW. The last fare adjustment took place seven years ago. Since then, public transport services, and the U-Abo in particular, have been significantly improved – at no cost to users. After the fare adjustment, the annual U-Abo travel pass will be even more worthwhile for regular users than the monthly pass. For occasional users, Multi-journey tickets will be more advantageous, as they benefit from a 20% discount when compared to the prices of single tickets. Multi-journey tickets (Mehrfahrtenkarten) are available in card form or on the “Tickets app” that can be downloaded to a mobile phone. Eighter way multi-journey tickets need to be validated before each journey.

With the timetable change, single and multi-journey tickets in the TNW network area will be valid in terms of 'space and time'. This means that a return journey can be made within the validity period of the ticket without having to buy a new ticket. This adjustment does not apply to cross-border travel using triregio tickets.
